Announcing the 4th Annual South Platte River Clean-up! (CO)

Over the last three events nearly 600 rafters, kayakers, cyclists and pedestrians have successfully removed over 6 TONS of garbage from Denver's South Platte River and bike path. The event garnered local and regional media coverage as the lead story on several news channels, as well as appearing in the local papers.

When: 4/25/10
Registration starts at 9 am
Clean Up: 11 am - 3 pm
After Party: 3 pm - 5 pm
Raffle & Product Giveaways start at 4 pm

Where: We will be starting at the Union Ave Put In, rafting, kayaking, biking and walking 6 miles of the S. Platte River and Bike Path finishing at Habitat Park. A complimentary shuttle from Habitat Park, where there is ample parking (even for trailers), to the start will be available in the morning only.
Put-In/Start: Union Chutes, On W. Union Ave. just west of S. Sante Fe Dr.
Take-Out/Finish: Habitat Park, S. Jason St. & Exposition Ave, Denver, CO

What: If you’ve got a raft, bring it we will find people to float with you, bikes and your own feet are other ways to be involved. Please see our personal gear list below, for suggestions on how to be prepared for a float trip in April.

Shuttle Information: The best way to utilize the shuttle would be to show up at Union Ave. around 9:00 as registration begins and unload your boats and bikes. Please be quick about unloading here as space is limited. Then drive to Habitat Park, where you can leave your vehicle and catch the Outward Bound bus back to the put-in. The shuttle will run until 10:30 am.

If your form is received by April 12, you will get an extra raffle ticket.
We need help planning for the after party. Please download the liability form and email or fax (303) 940-8812 your completed form to Down River Equipment. You will get an extra raffle ticket at registration.

PERSONAL GEAR FOR FLOATERS
• PFD (personal flotation device, aka lifejacket)
• Footwear (the more coverage the better) neoprene booties
or sandals with neoprene socks
• Swimsuit
• Shorts (quick dry, not cotton) for river (2)
• Hats (1 sun hat, 1 cool weather hat)
• Jacket (wind/rain proof)
• Pants (wind/rain proof)
• Fleece mid layer jacket
• Polypro top and bottom
• Rubber Gloves (you never know)
• Post-trip change of clothes to leave in car
• Camera
• Shades (with strap)
• Spare prescription eyewear (eye glass repair kit-coordinate)
• Whistle (optional unless you are the guide)
• River knife (optional)
• Small dry bag (use for day bag)
• Munchies
• Personal Meds
• Personal Drinks (no glass)
